Section 46
Damage to computer and information system
If a person knowingly destroys, damages, deletes, manipulates, makes useless any information contained in computer property by any act, with the intention of wrongfully causing damage to any organization. If he creates or reduces the importance of the value and use of such information or has a harmful effect or induces someone to do such work, he will be punished with a fine of up to two lakh rupees or imprisonment for a term of up to three years or both.
